Sophie Alda is a multidisciplinary artist, designer, and maker working primarily in clay, paper, paint, and print. Her practice spans functional design, decorative objects, and fine art pieces—crafted with a distinctive, playful approach to colour and texture.
Sophie creates work for the home, hotels, and cultural venues. She collaborates internationally, with collections developed for leading independent retailers and prestigious department stores such as The Conran Shop, Liberty London, Printemps Paris, and Lotte Shopping Korea, as well as in collaboration with institutions like Tate, Camden Art Centre, and the Sainsbury Centre.
Her work has been featured in a wide range of global publications, including Vogue (UK, Korea, Japan, Polska), Elle Decoration (UK, France, Korea), Marie Claire Maison, The Guardian, The Observer, The Times, Homes & Gardens, House Beautiful, Living Etc, Country Living, You Magazine, The Evening Standard, and Time Out.

Community & Practice
Sophie is a founding member of artist-led studio cooperatives in London and Bristol, operating since 2014. These spaces reflect her commitment to fostering democratic, collaborative environments where artists and designers can share skills, ideas, and resources.
She is also an experienced facilitator and educator. Since 2015, she has developed and delivered creative workshops and educational programming for leading arts organisations, including Tate, Camden Art Centre, Whitechapel Gallery, Crafts Council, and Somerset House.
